A CALNI representative released the first photos of the team thought to be in place in a major European city. The protesters flew out from Belfast International airport yesterday afternoon.
Speaking from the airport, Ray Clarke, CALNI Chariman, emphasized the European implications of the Moy Park Incinerator project.
“We need to remind our politicians that Lough Neagh is protected by European and International designations, so this is not just an issue for the Northern Ireland Assembly.”
“The DUP, including First Minister Peter Robinson, continued to bulldoze through community objection by pulling the ‘petition of concern’ card in Stormont, despite overwhelming cross party support for a Public Inquiry in the South Antrim and Lagan Valley constituencies. They must be held to account on the European stage.”
The CALNI representative declined to comment on the intended location for the European protest.
