Moy Park funds Rose Energy charm offensive

Championship secures Rose Energy as sponsor

One of the biggest events in the showjumping calendar, The Portmore International Autumn Championships, has welcomed the support of Rose Energy, which has come onboard as a main sponsor.

Rose Energy, the company planning to build a biomass power station in Co Antrim, is sponsoring the Grand Prix, which will attract Ireland’s show-jumping elite to the Portmore Equestrian Centre from the 22-24 October.

“We’re delighted that Rose Energy is lending its full support to this high profile event. We’re expecting the top names over the weekend of the championships, and particularly for Sunday’s Grand Prix which has already attracted the former national champion, Linda Courtney,” commented Seamus Kane, from Portmore Equestrian Centre.

“The event has gained a first class reputation over the last eight years and thanks to the support of companies such as Rose Energy and our other sponsors, we can promise everyone who attends an action packed weekend of world-class show-jumping.”

Adding his support, Mike Alcorn, director of Rose Energy, said: “Portmore is the only Equestrian Centre in Ireland to be selected as a pre-Games training centre for the 2012 Olympics and has earned a solid reputation for first class showjumping.

“We at Rose Energy are delighted to lend our support to this weekend event which not only offers Ireland’s top show-jumpers a great platform, but also helps nurture and build a talent base for the future.”

Classes run throughout the weekend, culminating in the Rose Energy Grand Prix on Sunday, October 24
